Ted Layne, Physical Therapist, Certified Athletics TrainerTed Layne
Ted is both a physical therapist and an athletic trainer. He started his ATC career at West Texas University (1976-1977). He then became the Head Athletic Trainer for the University of Colorado (1977-1983). Ted founded Flatirons Physical Therapy (1983-1997) and then started DIA Physical Therapy (1997 to present).

Ted has served as a trainer for CU, the Olympics, Pro Rodeo, and numerous other groups. He enjoys working with child athletes and has coached baseball and basketball teams.

He evaluates and treats a variety of orthopedic and sports patients. He specializes in Physical Therapy for the knee, hip, shoulder, elbow, ankle, neck, back, and post-operative care. Total joint replacement rehabilitation is a special interest. Anodyne Therapy for orthopedic conditions is another new area of expertise for him.

John DeSiato Master of Science in Physical Therapy
John
John received a B.S. in Kinesiology from the University of Colorado, Boulder in 1991 and a MS Physical Therapy from Washington University, St. Louis in 1995.

John evaluates and treats a variety of orthopedic and sports injuries at Layne Physical Therapy, LLC four days a week. He specializes in treating and devising custom self-management programs for Physical Therapy clients that have foot, ankle, knee, hip, back, neck, shoulder, elbow, hand and post-operative problems. John’s main goal is to help clients achieve their Physical Therapy goals and maintain them through continued performance of their custom home exercise programs. John has a special interest in lower extremity biomechanics and performs evaluations and castings for custom foot orthoses.

John is a native of Colorado and enjoys spending time with his wife and two children along with pursuing outdoor adventures.


Beth Schmidt, Physical Therapy AssistantBeth
Beth received her physical therapist assistant degree from Arapahoe community college in 1999. She also has a B.S degree in Industrial Illustration from Minnesota State University Moorhead which she received in 1985.

Beths interest in physical therapy started by watching her son with cerebral palsy attend therapy. She specializes in developing exercise programs that are fun to perform to enable her patients to be more successful in their exercises. She taught fitness classes for 10 years and has completed various manual therapy seminars to be able to treat patients various needs. Beth enjoys working with all patients -especially with the elderly with balance deficits.

Beth enjoys spending her free time exercising, traveling and being with her family. She is married with 3 kids and 3 grandkids. Her recent adventures have taken her to the Great Barrier Reef scuba diving with sharks, hiking the Great Wall of China and eating her way through France and Italy.


Tina Miller, Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy

Tina received a B.S. from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston in 1982. She has worked in various clinical settings including hospital, outpatient orthopedics, cardiac rehab as well as work hardening. She specialized in outpatient orthopedics and received her certification in Manual Therapy in 2006. Tina uses her years of clinical experience, many continuing education classes and a recent manual therapy certification to treat a variety of patients ranging from adolescents to weekend athletes, work injuries, post op shoulder rotator cuff repairs and post op hips and knees as well as patients with cardiac problems. Tina uses her manual therapy skills along with modalities, stretching, strengthening and education in a home exercise program to assist her patients to recover from pain, injury or surgery.

Tina moved to Colorado in April of 2008 and enjoys hiking with her husband in the mountains of this beautiful state. Tina is a native of Texas and has one daughter in college in Alabama pursuing the medical field.


Kortny Cook, Bachelor of Arts in Integrative Physiology

Kortny works as a Physical Therapy Aide for Layne Physical Therapy. She graduated from the University of Colorado at Boulder in August 2008 and has plans to apply to Physical Therapy school in the future. As a Colorado native, she has enjoyed outdoor activities her whole life including snowboarding, hiking, camping, running and bouldering. Her inclination towards a busy life has allowed her to maintain a second job working as a Personal Trainer in the mornings and evenings.


Mary Hartenstein, Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science

Mary runs the front office at Layne Physical Therapy. She just recently moved to Colorado and began working with us in July 2008. Mary graduated from Gonzaga University in May 2008 with a B.S. in Exercise Science. She enjoys working with patients and is looking into pursuing a career as a nurse.
